NOT Solved My Firefox Problem
Feb. 2nd, 2021 07:22 pmDo not use Firefox Home. That feature was taking up too much bandwidth/processor time when I launched Firefox.
Apparently, I'm not alone in having the problem.

PHOTOS: Slides
Aug. 2nd, 2020 03:24 pmNoting this for future reference. There's slides in my mother's place that can stand rescuing, hopefully. Another side effect of today's ByMUG meeting, this is.

My user group helped me find a workaround, and it's something the new WiFi modem/router is useful in setting up: Airprint.
I still think that DRM is malware by definition, though.

Someone else already solved it a few years ago, and I'm grateful for that. When file migration breaks Adobe CS4's licensing-ware, there's a problem that results when you try to launch any of those programs in the computer you migrated the files to.
Here's the support forum thread for that particular issue:

Some day, I'm likely going to have to give up using CS4 forever, but in the meantime, this fix gave me a couple of years' of additional usage time. And this doesn't mean I won't be using Serif Affinity and Inkscape and Clip Studio Paint and Krita as well alongside CS4...

About My Absence Yesterday
Jul. 22nd, 2020 03:37 pmMy MacBook Pro was developing weird symptoms after I swapped in my new modem yesterday, so it became a necessity to get the file migration to the new iMac underway. A couple of false starts, but everything seems to be getting into proper order now. A few updates to some software, others look to be useless now, which is all normal enough. But the file migration took all day and most of the night yesterday into way early this morning. So I've lost a full day's job search activity.
Back now, though.

The Patriotic Millionaires group has not disbanded or otherwise gone away. So they too will be another element in the solutions mix. I'm grateful for this, but that doesn't take away from my doing whatever my part ought to be.

My Flickr and Facebook Problems
Mar. 5th, 2019 08:56 pmUpdate on the Flickr issue: when I try to open the login page?
I've got a second-hand Macbook (not Pro) that's still somewhat upgradeable, but my Facebook problem remains, right? I can't log into this account using the "newer" machine.
- Opera: blank page
- Firefox: blank page
- Chrome: blank page
- Safari: unsupported browser

Music Recording on the ISS
Jan. 14th, 2016 08:31 pmSome friends of mine in ByMUG will be pleased with this.
Future stations and ships will, one suspects, have their own "sweet spots" for such projects.
