I've been an office worker, an illustrator, and a writer among other things. I was born in Treaty 4 territory, and live in Canada's National Capital Region, on the continuing traditional territory of the Algonquin people. "Continuing" because they still call this region home, and my people and theirs live amongst one another today...and hopefully for untold generations to come.
This started out in October of 2005 on Livejournal as a way of promoting my creative works, and continues here having evolved into a way of talking about what goes on around me. The original Livejournal version of this blog is dead as of 3 March 2017. Long story behind that. Short version: Vladimir Putin wanted all LJ users to behave as if they were living and posting from within his version of Russia. I had a problem with that.
You should know that some of my friends are less polite than others. They delve into topics that many would consider Not Safe For Work. They are no less my friends.
As you'll see from my list of interests, I have touchstones in a lot of fandoms, a lot of hobbies and my attention will jump from topic to topic at the drop of just about any hat. I believe in Canada as an imperfect ideal, even as I recognize a lot of the lives and other precious things we've screwed up across the centuries. I think we can do and be better than we have done and been; That's part of my idea of (hopefully) non-toxic patriotism.
We have each other and a world at our backs to protect and heal, and a universe in front of us to explore to whatever degree we can. Let's do that together as best we can, okay?
