I'm trying to find a font that's a good match to Breakaway because I'm looking at these Japanese words in kanji and kana...

What I've got left to nail down in the Triangle:

R'o
Mantiev
Stork's Rest
Actonn
Altharra
Deerlam
Fooled Again
Freeman's Port
Newlin
Overlinn
Passarra's Dream
Fenris
Soroya

The last two have to fit with the maps in Firewall. Not sure whether I should pick stars for Vashti and Qiris as well.

Has anyone on my friendlist here tried this company?

https://www.ppe-supply.com/

A stranger I encountered at a Shoppers location over the weekend was wearing an orange KN95 that she attributed to them, and I finally tracked down the website. Looking for opinions on their product...

Which would you say is going to be easier to remember for a layperson? An SAO catalogue number or "BD ##º #####"?

I'm betting on the SAO number over the Bonner Durchmusterung.

Yes, this is for the Edge of Midnight base map project.

Any new/old music I should know to pay attention to?

Music to celebrate the news from Toronto tonight by:

1. "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang
2. "Democracy" by Leonard Cohen
3. "Theme from Star Trek: the Next Generation"

That should do for openers.

Willing to consider other/additional suggestions!

Is anyone else who's looking for work in Canada having trouble accessing this website today?

Never mind!

A prototype:

A complaint about public health policy published March 2022

Offers to translate to other languages are welcomed. I won't be able to pay anything for them, let alone what the translations will be worth, mind you.

Oh, before I forget: if you want, feel free to print this out for your own usage. I might change up the font, and if you want an SVG or PNG or whatever, please let me know.

Any recommendations for "generic" styluses for use with tablets of multiple origins?

On Saturday, one of the places I visited was Staples on Innes at Tenth Line. Some of the products I saw on offer were "generic", house-branded styluses.

I was hoping some of you might have actually tried such devices with whatever tablets you make use of.

Okay, if I start shopping for new masks, here in Ottawa, where do I go and what do I need to get?

Because I'm thinking that while I still have money to spend, I want some of it going to masks.

The last week or so has seen me binging on instructional videos for comics artists. The point - pun, somewhat intended here - is to get back into practice as an illustrator. I'm using both traditional and digital toolkit here, as I believe well-rounded artists ought to be.

Consequently, I'm looking for supplies. Specifically sources for 2 mm mechanical pencil leads, 4H and harder. Which is proving somewhat difficult right now, since the major North American and European suppliers seem reluctant to make and sell any leads harder than 4H these days. Recommendations of new sources are most definitely welcome.

(Yes, I continue to look for office work jobs. Can't afford not to!)

Anyone on my friendlist heard of something called "WeTransfer"?

One of my relatives swears by it, but I want a wider range of knowledge and opinion on this first.

Okay, it works.

Hey, British friendlisters. This might catch your attention. Thanks to Jonathan Crowe's Map Room blog for the clue.

Also, does Canada have enough mythology to build a map of its own? I'd think Geist Magazine already did such a map, but I can't be sure yet.

I may be on my way to wanting to get a games console. This could be my Excuse. The article's four years old, but I've seen a lot of screencaps and some YouTube videos focused on this game in the last few months.

Can anyone on my friendlist recommend good news sources re: whatever's going on in Brussels in particular and Belgium in general? I keep track of BBC News, the Guardian, and the like, but would be glad of sources from inside Belgium.

My Facebook feed shows me a bit of a fuss about his candidacy for leadership of the UK Labour Party. What's up with that? Is he not pro-corporation-state enough for some (or most) in the party's upper ranks or something?
