I'm finding myself drawn to movie and TV soundtracks from my favourite viewing, of course. Also, Metric, the New Pornographers, Great Big Sea, Whitehorse, Bruce Cockburn, Coeur de Pirate, BNL, Future Islands, Leonard Cohen, and there are others I'm trying to remember the names of at the moment.
Recently gave the Who a try, and they’re much weirder than I’d been led to believe. I mostly like the songs John Entwistle wrote, and he also did some albums of his own.
Started listening to some Neubauten last month, though I think I prefer the stuff they did during/after the shift from “atonal crashing sounds and Blixa screaming” to “actual melody (and also Blixa screaming).”

Date: 2023-07-09 01:30 pm (UTC)I just got into the Bridge City Sinners. They've been around awhile but they're new to me.
I preordered Orville Peck's "Bronco" and it finally deposited itself in my iTunes. It is excellent and I've been listening to that a lot.
I got some new metal as well. I haven't listened to most of it yet though.
Ghost did a cover of "Stay" by Shakespeare's Sister and I've mainly been listening to that on repeat because I love the original but this is better.
