(Just called to check on my sister and brother-in-law, who were getting into Ottawa from Peterborough, but they got in early this afternoon and are not planning on going outside.)
We were reasonably lucky in our neck of the woods. We didn't lose power and we were able to get out for groceries this morning. If you're going out on foot though, I'd strongly advise crampons, as some walkways are quite slippery.
We are supposed to have 4-7" by tonight. I awoke and it was snowing - but nothing more than a light dusting on the ground, and the temperature has already risen up to freezing, so I expect we're not going to get 7".
Nonetheless, the snow thrower's batteries are fully charged.
