Marking Progress
Dec. 23rd, 2016 04:30 pmTried to nail down some further resources for mental self-care.
Got a haircut.
Checked in with several friends.
Applied for a half-dozen jobs (so far today).
Did continuing battle with bigots in the comments sections of several articles hosted on iPolitics-dot-ca.
Got some shopping done.
A productive day. So far.

Stuff Got Done
Jan. 17th, 2016 08:14 pm- Took an exam for a job competition.
- Shovelled the driveway.
- Sorted garbage into its proper disposal streams on an ongoing basis.
- Did some history research on Montréal.
- Practiced with Manga Studio inking.
- Visited with friends at a WritersFest-linked party.
- Got some shopping done.
- Watched The Martian again.
- Updated my pull file with my comics shop.
- Vacuumed the basement.
Yes, I should've posted more. But, as you saw above: stuff got done this weekend.
Productive Day is Still a Wet Day
Jan. 9th, 2016 06:28 pmRain. In January. Again.
So I still got stuff done today.
Driveway shovelled.
New external hard drive.
New (used) cleverphone.
Groceries bought.
Library business squared away.
Oh, and I finally got the Hadfield autobiography today. Since I got it at the used bookstore attached to my local public library, that might count as a "cheat"...?

Haven't Forgotten
Aug. 3rd, 2015 09:46 pmAmidst all the office work, photography, writing, house chores and so on...I got back to the drawing tables, paper and digital, today. For practice. Since I was able to get the updated Manga Studio recently, the acquisition tripped a circuit in my brain.
It has been months since I could even think of drawing again on a daily basis.
Months.
More on that another day.

Further re: Riverfront Walking Tour
Aug. 9th, 2014 04:57 pmIt is my longterm goal to travel the entirety of Ottawa's riverfront that can be reached on foot. Thus far, I've gotten the following segments:
- from Voyageur Drive to the Rockcliffe Yacht Club + Flying Club/Cdn. Aviation and Space Museum.
- the base of the cliffs on which Parliament Hill sits.
- from Tunney's Pasture + Remic Rapids to the Kitchissippi Lookout and Westboro Beach.
Needing to work up a proper map of this progress...

We've finally got a programming page up and running as of tonight:
http://www.can-con.org/programming/
On it, we've got an official call for ideas for panels and other events that we might hold this year, and a framework in which to put those ideas. Go take a look, see if anything either inspires you or looks like it's missing. Do let us know ASAP so we can have the best possible 2012 edition of CAN-CON!

Fighting Through the Ouch
Nov. 17th, 2010 02:39 pmWe've got a lot of crap coming down on a lot of people lately. Again. On a continuing basis.
I've been dealing with the tail-end of a...not sure if it's a flu bug, asthma, a cold, some combination thereof? Whatever it is, it's something that usually happens around this time of the season. It's painful(often), inconvenient(always), and...well, we won't dwell on the rest of that, okay? TMI turf, yes?
Despite this, I still managed to chase down day-job leads, promote Kagemono in one or three different places, and get some order back into the studio spaces of the basement again.
Not a bad way to spend a day.

I don't think I'm doing that tonight, though.
If anything, it's been a busy week. More progress on the Kagemono project for
jasonfranks. Research on a couple of projects for
spacing_ottawa. Getting ready for Can-Con. Writing workshop this past Tuesday night at Umi Cafe, and the enjoyment of listening to a live reading of one of
ms_danson's "Minion Bob" tales and
themoo37's adventures at RCW 139, the only Due South convention on Earth.
Been a good week so far...

Progress - Local Hero - November 2009
Nov. 9th, 2009 08:06 pm"Accomplished" isn't all of it, though. For a while there today, "frustrated" would not have been out of line to describe the mood today either.
( More technobabble for interested parties... )
And tomorrow, it's back to regular job-hunting and other errands, including a writing workshop.
Back to you!

On local transit
Sep. 9th, 2009 10:40 pmI did some blogging elsewhere today on the subject:
http://www.publicbroadcasting.ca/2009/09/transit-ages-city-and-future-happy.html
Hoping I didn't mess the work up there.
