dewline: "Truth is still real" (anti-fascism)
Amplifying this tonight, just in case it can get to someone who really needs to see it:

There is a conclusion I've come to:

Hands Off = Elbows Up = Slava Ukraini

It's all the same fight.

Noting this thanks to newsletters from the Ontario Caregiver Organization...

Shelley "TSivia" Rabinovitch is a friendly acquaintance of longstanding from as far back as the early years of Can-Con's relaunch as a convention for writers, illustrators and editors of speculative fiction and their fans. We were both on the organizing committee together for a couple of years.

TSivia is currently in need of some support herself at the moment. Details are in the link. Some of you will have already heard of this through other channels and already acted upon that, I suspect. If you haven't, please have a look:

Someone's willing to pay attention to this, and a good thing, too. I've been getting some kind of mental-health support for over five years through one of the local community health centres, whether I was employed or not. The mental-health supports weren't sought specifically because of the job search, but so what?

Meanwhile, I'm working on designing a birthday card for one of my nephews. In additional to helping with family solidarity in its way, it's skills-training with graphic design 'ware. I can count it as a "job search activity", right?

At least right now at this moment.

I'm looking at some of the horror stories from across the States via Twitter. Genuine, non-fiction horror stories. I don't know now what I can do to help you. If we jointly figure out that there's a useful thing I can do, I'll try to do that thing.

  • I fed myself, and allowed myself to be fed.
  • I touched base with friends in my Mac User Group for a couple of hours.
  • I kept an eye on news via sources I consider reliable.
  • I've downloaded resources for use with Clip Studio Paint.
  • Started looking for similar resources for SketchUp 7. (Yes, it's outdated. I can still use it until the (also outdated) computer it's loaded on goes to pieces, right?)
  • Got walking exercise.
  • Photography practice in low light.
More as it develops.

Is anything like this project in Vancouver happening elsewhere in the world?

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ms_danson, we've been alerted to some possible acquisitions in real estate for certain organizations of interest to consider setting up recreational shop in.

Needless to say, our surveillance division will be watching real estate developments fairly closely from here onward.

I just found out that the above-named story arc from Legends of the Dark Knight, co-written with J.H. Williams III and drawn by the late and honoured Seth Fisher, has been approved to go to trade paperback format. DC will be releasing it next spring!

Nice going, Dan!!!
