Originally composed for "Second Galactica" by Bear McCreary. We've seen this performance on YouTube before, but not these POVs...
This thing just broke one of my depressive episodes.
(Yes, that's Katee Sackhoff with Bear McCreary at the piano at the start.)
(And apparently, there's a new album including live concert recordings...?)

One of the things that "Second Galactica" did really well was break down the preconceptions of what background/score music in space opera was supposed to be. First Richard Gibbs on the pilot movie, and then Bear McCreary when Moore and Eick went to series.

MUSICAL INTERLUDE: "Welcome to the Rock"
Mar. 18th, 2020 03:28 pmFrom the musical Come From Away as performed for Q on CBC Radio One back in 2018. Seems like a good moment for it. Most of my friendlist probably knows the premise of the musical, but short version for anyone caught unawares: the POV of the people of Gander, Newfoundland-Labrador when thousands of people flying to and from any number of places happened to have to land there on September 11, 2001.
You wouldn't have thought a musical worth seeing could be made of that premise, but they got'er done.
