One of the things that "Second Galactica" did really well was break down the preconceptions of what background/score music in space opera was supposed to be. First Richard Gibbs on the pilot movie, and then Bear McCreary when Moore and Eick went to series.

I found the change in music interesting going from Babylon 5 to Crusade with the difference in composer, both were differently effective.
