We've seen it done before with The Dark Knight a few years back, and it seems that Marvel wants to try their hand at it now. This is the second instalment from "WHIH World News" with Leslie Bibb reprising her Christine Everhart character from the first two Iron Man instalments, and it looks interesting.

Yeah, I decided to play along with the conceit in the comments sections. Maybe it'll challenge them to run with some stuff a little further, maybe not. But as long as it lasts, it ought to be worth watching.

And maybe we get an actual debate on the post-Sokovia situation acted out?

It was a good day yesterday.

A walking tour of Vanier as part of the Jane's Walk urban exploration project, followed by my first viewing of Age of Ultron.

A very good day.

More to follow.

Some linkages of interest, which I thank [livejournal.com profile] james_nicoll for pointing out and prompting others to point out in the course of the conversation he triggered:

Steven Attewell: Steve Rogers Isn’t Just Any Hero

The Infamous Brad: It Would Be Remarkable if Steve Rogers and Tony Stark Did Get Along

Mightygodking.com: Things I’d Like To Write Someday, #247654932

Considering that we're halfway between Avengers and Winter Soldier, it seems like a good time to put linkages to these three opinions on the same page and let everyone who cares to do so cut loose with their own POVs. Which of these works for you, which doesn't and either way, why?

Admitting this: I am not happy with the treatment of the Black Panther and Wakanda in this particular mini-series.
dewline: Doctor Who quote: Books. Best Weapons in the World (Books)
From one of the banners in the underground lab at the start of the movie:

NASA
Missions

Joint Dark Energy Mission
Western Division

Advanced Dark Energy Physics Telescope (ADEPT)

Cosmic Inflation Probe (CIP)
or Cosmic Expansion Probe (CEP)

Dark Energy Space Telescope (DESTINY)

Supernova Acceleration Probe-Lensing (SNAP-L)

J.D.E.M.

I don't think any of those projects exist.

Yet.

Also...web portfolio of one of the movie's design team, including some of his visual inspirations:

Definitely liked Bryan Hitch's Ultimates work, didn't he?

So, you remember that link-post to stuff posted by and about Jayse Hansen, designer of fictional user interfaces, re: the Helicarrier in Avengers a while back?

We may have found one of the fonts used in those Helicarrier user interface design pix.

Opinion?

If anyone wanting to go with me has the Silver City Gloucester complex in mind:

(For that matter, feel free to use it for your own trip-scheduling no matter when or with whom you want to see it.)

Noticed that several of you on my friendlist have already made arrangements to see that movie ASAP.

I'm planning to see it myself, but would prefer to go as part of a group, if anyone in the Ottawa-Gatineau component of my friendlist is interested...

Update: I'm hearing that Silver City Gloucester will have the non-3D edition on offer for at least the next week. I would prefer that edition of the movie, and have had it recommended to me by at least one of my friends already.
