Age of Ultron Notes

A few thoughts and links...
Putting the last item first: specifically, credits for creators of specific characters. If you create the villain in the movie title, you should be specifically named as such in the end credits. It may be too late for Roy Thomas and John Buscema regarding the cinema theatre release, but surely those end credits can be amended for the DVD release?
I wonder what the ecological footprint of stopping Ultron's Sokovian Stone scheme will be across the years. And the economic one. And the political footprint. Did they ever sneak a map showing where Sokovia is supposed to be for MCU geopolitical purposes? "Nowhere special, on the road to everywhere special" doesn't seem quite enough, as much as it reminds me of the Balkans and the madness that engulfed them yet again for much of the 1990's.
I still like the little bits of world-building scattered throughout each movie, even as I see how they sometimes annoy some by way of foreshadowing future MCU movies. Sorry.
Noting an essay by Linda Holmes for NPR about the burdens imposed upon the Black Widow and Laura Barton. Socio-political burdens...and the comments led to finding this commentary on Dr. Helen Cho. All of which is mind-food for much contemplation. Much, much contemplation.
And as for that Banner/Romanova idea? It's one of those things the comics writers of fifty years' worth of stories never even considered, and yet when Whedon, Ruffalo and Johansson put the idea forward for consideration, I found myself intrigued. Maybe it's that it's these specific versions of the characters that make the idea worth exploring.
Closing at the start: I normally loathe ads before the "Coming Soon" trailers, but the one for Carleton University got me wondering when - not if - we'd be seeing location shooting here in town if Marvel ever gets around to that Alpha Flight movie. Because that ad on the big screen made Ottawa look good enough for that.
