Said restaurant's a half-block east of the corner of Bronson and Somerset West, on the north side of Somerset West. It's their first jam session of 2016. Any time after 6 PM should be good for you to start showing up.

james_nicoll reminded me of the launch of Curiosity this morning.Thinking back to Apollo X and the "Snoopy Visits the Moon" arc in Peanuts back in those days, it's a nice - accidentally timed, but who cares about that detail? - way of paying it forward to future generations of space explorers and cartoonists alike.

Sketch Nights at Algonquin I
Jul. 4th, 2009 04:15 pmEvery so often on a Tuesday night in the summer months between semesters at Algonquin College, instructor Rich Lauzon holds forth in B Building's Rotunda/Portable Feast room, inviting animation, game design and other arts students past and present to get together and sketch whatever suits'em.
I happened to be there for the session the night before Canada Day 2009.
If you're an artist yourself, and the Algonquin Campus off of Baseline Transitway Station's within easy reach for you on the right night of the month in the summer, you might want to have a look.

One of the people ongumprich's friendlist posted something recently on one of my heroes in cartoon-work. The first of them, in fact: "Sparky" Schulz himself.
