Okay, writing workshop went okay yesterday afternoon. Last night's architecture/urbanism discussion centering on Black involvement in architecture, design, urban (re)development, etc. was useful in seeing how equity principles can be made reality, as well as giving the wider public a look at projects being made reality right now.

This morning? I've started some laundry, gotten started on today's job search work, and planning to hope-scroll and doom-scroll through today's news as it evolves. Seems like we've got some hot stuff breaking on the exoplanet front.

Oh, and the count at exoplanet.eu as of today? 4404, split up between 3250 systems.

More on various topics later.

Ideally, similar to the old Discman devices. Must be capable of operating as radio and CD player. MP3s burnt to CD will be a bonus.

A Babylon 5 question: I'm trying to remember the episode whence came a particular exchange about motives for lying between Cdr. Sinclair and Lt. Cdr. Garibaldi.

Apparently, a lot of pieces of Denys' original work disappeared in transit. Details here:

Considering that Denys co-created or visually influenced a tonne of my favourite characters over the last couple of decades in particular - including the Milestone/Dakotaverse roster - I would be pleased indeed to see these pieces returned to whence they came. Intact.

I'd announced a Friday trip to see Iron Man 3 in normal, 2-D format on the Ottawa SF Society's meetup.com page. The only thing I thought I needed to worry about was which theatre for us to meet at.

Either the movie theatre chains or Disney-Marvel - perhaps both, as I am not privy to the details - may have pre-empted my plans and forced me to wait for the DVD.

I'm not seeing any times for this upcoming Friday night at any Ottawa movie theatre via ottawakiosk.com as of this morning.

You would think that I could find just one photo from amidst the nearly 25,000 currently stored on my hard drive. Especially from all the ones I took of the Ottawa Congress Centre as it was being taken down and then rebuilt from scratch and renamed...right?

Update: Found the One Photo.

For one of my projects, I need to track down visuals of smaller towns in Florida. Can anyone make any recommendations for such things?

Update - April 8, 2006: Have since acquired access to Google Earth, per the advice of a friend of a friend. Seems promising, although the Mac version does seem a tad buggy in spots after a few runs-through. I'll follow up on this in a separate entry...
