I'll get to Remembrance next post.

Right now...I see that the Metro grocery chain wants me to switch from web site to cellphone app to get my Air Miles points offers.

I object to that. Too many people and organizations get to track too much of what I do with my cell phone as it is now. So I'm digging in my heels on this one.

The Hellfire Trading Company is picking up where the Hudson's Bay Company left off.

Am I wrong?

I'm trying to find out more about a company called "House Buyer Solutions SA". I'm looking at a data entry clerk ad sourced from them on Indeed.com. A quick web search seems to give them a presence all over anglophone North America. I'd like to know how legitimate they are.

Agree or disagree with the list as a whole, or specific mentions, non-inclusions, placements in the order of evil just as you like. It's there to be debated.

A lot of us Canadians wanted to believe this outfit was on the up-and-up...

I know what the rumour mills are passing along.

I'm still not done with iTunes yet as an all-media-in-one-piece-of-software thing.

Not sorry.

I currently own and use a Hewlett-Packard-made scanner-printer device. I didn't buy into such plans as described in the article by Cory Doctorow, but it is programmed to complain to me every time I use a refilled ink cartridge. I find that obnoxious enough as it is.

This is worse.

If Hewlett-Packard wants me to keep buying their scanner-printer devices when my current machine "dies", it would go well for them to cease and desist in the practices Mr. Doctorow describes here.

Permanently.

(And is this happening in Canada, and whom do we speak with at which level(s) of government if it is?)

I don't believe that Tim Cook's people at Apple don't have similar plans for attempting to lock their customers into a "subscription-access-only" business model.

I can't afford that changeover.

Betting most of you can't afford it either.

How does indeed.ca go about filing jobs in their database to end up with such a result?

Stop telling me to change my formatting. I don't want to do it. Bandwidth access is limited enough for me as it is.
