...I've still got some stock left for anyone interested.

The price list I posted a few weeks back still holds, and I'm willing to entertain discount arrangements for people willing to buy multiple items from it, subject to product availability.

Looking forward to hearing from whoever's interested!

Here we go...one more time!

I'll be back at Rob McLennan's latest instalment of the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair this Saturday.

I've got a list of what I'll be selling here, if you're interested. Hoping to see lots of friendly faces on Saturday!

And I got home from the book fair a couple of hours ago.

It was a good session. Actually made back my table fee. Even better, sold a couple of copies of Kagemono: Flowers and Skulls, as well as a couple of Local Hero # 1. Wouldn't have minded moving a few more Ashcan Samplers, but that will come in due course.

Tired now. Good kind of tired.

Want something like this on your own home's walls?

Yes, I'm still taking commissions.

Recently, I had to clear out the library room in order to get some repainting done. Now that that's over, the library's slowly been put back into place, one shelf at a time, one box of comics or magazines at a time.

Not all the current contents are shown in these photos, and as ever the contents are perpetually subject to change. What these photo files are is a "snapshot" of a particular point in my reading life.

One thing for sure: physical books are not leaving my life any time soon.

(And if you see some of your own work here, feel free to point it out.)

This is an open letter to all the political parties of Canada.

If I make a donation to any of your organizations, that should not - under any circumstances - be taken as a statement of intent to become a member of your party. It is strictly a donation, nothing more.

If I decide to officially join any particular party, I will explicitly so inform them and pay the appropriate fees at that point.

If I ever find a receipt, either hardcopy or e-mailed, arriving in my hands presuming my intent to be other than that stated in the above paragraphs, I will consider that a hostile act against my freedom of political activity as a citizen of Canada. The political party or parties responsible will find themselves no longer receiving donations from me, regardless of their worth as an organization.

And that would indeed be a shame.

Someone seemed to be asking for a recommended reading list. Best I can do is take a list from elsewhere that's been accumulating over the year to date and repost it here. So...

Okay, one more time.

I'm running a table at the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair this afternoon. Noon to 5 PM. Jack Purcell Centre, just off of Elgin Street in Centretown, on a side street sandwiched between Starbucks Coffee and the Elgin Street Public School.

The Ashcan Samplers are going on sale again, and I'll do sketches on commission for whoever puts up $10 per. Live portraits or your favourite fictional character(s). Bring reference if you're asking for the latter, please?

Hope to see you there if you're in Ottawa today!

Next weekend, I'll be running a table at the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair's Fall 2011 edition. Expect me to have copies of my Ashcan Samplers available once more, although I have to apologize for not having a 2011 edition ready to go! Things on other fronts have simply been too busy for that this year.

Sketch commissions are also welcome as always!

If you're in Ottawa-Gatineau that weekend, I hope to see you there!

More on other topics later this week...

[livejournal.com profile] jasonfranks just posted word: We got the coveted 10-star rating from Australia's top horror-genre news+reviews site, scaryminds.com.

Details here: http://www.scaryminds.com/reviews/2011/comic032.php

Since [livejournal.com profile] budgie_uk raised the question, I'll follow up: I've some newly-published work of my own out there in the wide world.

"Written in the Stars", with script by [livejournal.com profile] jasonfranks , has just been released via Blackglass Press and amazon.com as part of the new collection, Kagemono: Flowers and Skulls.

Fair warning: the Kagemono volumes are horror anthology comics, which means they've got stories that could trauma-trigger old issues for the unwary and unaware reader.

If you're willing to take that chance, or if you just want a few good stories with an edge to them, then feel free to click on the relevant links  for Blackglass Press or amazon.com, depending on your preference.

Looking forward to your reactions...

I'll be at this show tomorrow, running my table one more time. Sketchbooks and sketches for sale, as usual!

Details here:

Hoping to see as many of the Ottawans reading this as possible, and more...

Last weekend, I worked my table at the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair, offering sketches and a bunch of little publications I call Ashcan Samplers. Part yearbook, part portfolio, all self-promotion and unapologetically. I like doing that work. I want to do more of it.

So.

I'll be running a table today from noon to 5 at the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair's 2009 edition. It will, as usual, be held at the Jack Purcell Community Centre just off of Elgin Street in Centretown.

Further details here or here.

I'll be at the Ottawa SF Society meeting as one of the speakers instead of part of the audience.

Theme is "science fiction and the arts". I'll revise this post with the rest of the speaker list ASAP.

Same time and place as per usual: 2 PM, Dalhousie Community Centre on Somerset and Empress.

Further details here at Facebook for anyone who's got or getting an account!

Just thought I'd post a reminder:

Yes, I'm still working on Local Hero with Ian Gould. We're hopeful of getting the second issue out later this year, but seeing as there's a bit of "dead time" in my "night job" schedule right now for various reasons outside of my control, I wouldn't be averse to doing a few "one-off" commissions and such like for interested parties.

Just saying...
