The first time I ever spotted any of their locations was when when I was passing through the Laurel/Loretta intersection on my way from somewhere else to another elsewhere. I think the Laurel Street site was their first ever.

Someone of you remember a more recent image of Blair Station's interior, one of the sites along the O-Train network where they've agreed to rent space from OC Transpo and/or the Rideau Transit Group, I think.

The former "Fifth Avenue Court". What was the newer portion of the building has been torn down in favour of another newer portion, intended as an apartment complex if memory serves (although it might not).

Rebuild in Progress

David Reevely reported for the Ottawa Citizen that then-Capital Ward Councillor David Chernushenko didn't think people will miss the courtyard that used to be the heart of that complex.

I would disagree with that assessment, despite living in Orléans rather than the Glebe.

I'm sure that I took more photos of the inside of Patty Boland's Pub than I have on file on my computer.

The reason why it bothers me that I can't find them: Patty's - a hangout of mine because it was the meeting site of ByMUG from its founding in 2006 until we moved over to Shares last year in 2018 - is shutting down. Their lease is up, and the new management hasn't had an easy time of it. There's more to the story than I know, surely, but I can't chase it down right now. Our founder and leader, Tom Leroux, asked me to dig up what pix I can find that I took of several of our earlier meetings at Patty's. Been trying for the last hour or so to carry out that task. It looks like I took fewer images than either Tom or I remember.

There's one dating back to 2006, and it looks...corrupted with unwanted linework. I took it back when I used a Canon A70. And I can't seem to find many more of them. Frustrating.

Last weekend, I took a walking tour of Elmvale and Alta Vista. Towards the Elmvale end of things, there's a couple of streets named for title characters of Shakespeare's plays...

Othello Avenue

Hamlet and Saunderson

And the man himself who wrote those is commemorated in Vanier, a little ways north of Elmvale (using the oldest street-name sign that I could get a picture of):

Seems as if it'll work if I add an image to an entry...like so with my idea for a SHIELD flag here: SHIELDFlagPrototype-UN-616-1

But it doesn't work if I try to upload directly to a scrapbook directory anymore.

Thoughts?
