Radio/Internet: Link Rot

dewlineSpark is discussing the problem of "link rot" this week. It's an ongoing issue for all of us, I suspect, depending on how old our respective weblogs are. I'm guilty of aggravating the problem by way of not correcting links between blog entries here since moving the whole blog over from LiveJournal to Dreamwidth back in 2017, for example.
Also, I think that paywalls aggravate the "link rot" problem. But what to do to keep those old news services' archives preserved and available without undermining peoples' efforts to keep earning whatever living they can?
