Today, I start with a couple of thoughts.
One: Vacuuming needs be done this morning.
Two: Railfest 33 over at Algonquin College sounds interesting. Hoping to attend at least part of the fun there today.
Three: Angela Merkel is Wrong.
More thoughts on other topics later...

Date: 2010-10-17 08:22 pm (UTC)What I don't think Frau(?) Merkel understands - maybe she did understand at some points, but now needs one of those occasional reminders of? - is that multiculturalism isn't so much an experiment, but a process that all of humanity's undergoing whether we ever wanted it or not. And we've got to make this work, even if it turns out that there'll be other planets to go to and practical ways of getting to them.
And the same goes for the immigrants, guest workers, whatever we call them in turn. We are stuck with each other as neighbours. And we've already decided - with pockets full of lunatics vainly demanding their exemptions from this, as ever they have - that genocide is not an option.
More on this as we meditate in our respective corners, I'm sure.
