Canada needs to have a process in place for refugees to use if the US situation goes completely sour on its citizens. Pandemic or not, we have to have that process in place. We also should have started re-arming twenty years ago, but we didn't know to anticipate someone like Trump being installed in the Oval Office twenty years ago. Did we?

Just checked my dental practice's home page. They're down to one practicing dentist and six dental hygenists at the moment...and my dentist the last five years or so is no longer listed there. I did find them listed with another practice on the other side of the Ottawa River, in the city of Gatineau, QC.

No, I'm not going to name names. Not without consent. Partly because it might be safe for them to come back to my neighbourhood someday.

I suppose that I should have expected this, though.

Someone else already solved it a few years ago, and I'm grateful for that. When file migration breaks Adobe CS4's licensing-ware, there's a problem that results when you try to launch any of those programs in the computer you migrated the files to.

Here's the support forum thread for that particular issue:

Some day, I'm likely going to have to give up using CS4 forever, but in the meantime, this fix gave me a couple of years' of additional usage time. And this doesn't mean I won't be using Serif Affinity and Inkscape and Clip Studio Paint and Krita as well alongside CS4...
