Today, I think I could do without it. I've got some errands to run this morning in my neighbourhood. On foot, because the bus routes don't run in the ways I need them to. (Yeah, that's what they call a "First/Second World Problem", Dwight. Deal with it.)

And if the forecast from Environment Canada about the odds of thunderstorms are more accurate than I'd like? Well, that's going to be a Complication none of us needs. Rain will be good for yards, gardens and croplands up to a point.

I'll likely be off-line for most of the rest of the morning, so expect me to "see" you after lunch.

So...downtown having lunch at the moment.

Coping with the latest second-hand reports of the post-Flashpoint DCU, still not reading the line as presently constituted. That reaction remains based in the second-hand reports, some of those reports coming from other readers of this LJ.

Expect me to keep filing additional reviews of particular bits of their pre-Flashpoint stuff that I still carry affection for as a reader. There's a couple of things I'm kicking around essays for at the moment. One's perhaps obscure, the other in the wake of the Nolanverse Bat-movies...not so much, perhaps.

Something I might be buying...there's this thing from Alex Ross. Maybe.

Brian Wood's new thing via Dark Horse, The Massive? That, I've been buying. More on that in a future entry.

More thoughts on other stuff later in the day...

This is intended for the world at large in general. Two items tonight:

1. Try to avoid being rude about reminding me of news items I've already heard about.

2. Try to not equate tactful phrasing with sneering on my part.

...at least for now.

Some of you remember the write-up on that particular candy shop on the second floor of Place d'Orléans Mall.

Well, I walked into the store today and owner/operator Tracey Wuest had taped up "Store Closing - Final Days!" signage all over the premises. After nearly two years, the lease is over, and Tracey and her crew are moving on to other things. I expect they'll be keeping the doors open for a week or so more to clear out as much of the inventory as possible.

This is the last weekend of the store.

I'm gonna miss the place.

Whatever you're doing next, Tracey, good luck with it!
