Been meaning to get back to this subject for a few days.

I might suggest that if the USA gets those Trumpist tariffs out of the way, we might be able to do more and more useful things towards that lunar goal and others relating to space exploration in general.

Whether or not lunar communities of any sort are actually useful...well, that's another debate that's been going on for a few decades, right? It might be better to set up a new major telescope on the Moon than on disputed soil in Hawai'i. No?

I just read the news.

Thank you for your Service. It's a pleasure and an honour to count you as a fellow citizen.

Whatever you're planning next, I wish you well with it.

Despite the phrasing of the opening headline of this particular CBC news article, I notice this particular detail about Radarsat-1: it lasted twelve years longer than planned or expected.

The people who built this satellite did Very Good Work.

Thank you all.

For those of you reading this and planning to attend: I wonder if this news item is coming up for discussion at the convention?

I just did a "search by interest" check with the key-phrase "Canadian Space Agency".

I find it puzzling and disturbing that, of all the thousands(?) of Canadians past and present with LJ accounts, only three of us have chosen thus far to list that organization as a subject of interest to us.

(Qualifier: One account is held by two people, both of whom I hold in very regard. The other person - aside from myself - who's expressed their interest last posted some five years ago, apparently. WTH???)

Good news indeed!

Safe journeys, safe working, and a safe journey home to you, sir!

(Now...who's still working on getting our homegrown spaceports and spacecraft up and running at the moment? Perhaps a look at spaceref.ca is in order?)
