Something I spotted on the CBC Web News:
Nunavut Green candidate wants Inuktitut language on ballots
Last Updated Wed, 18 Jan 2006 14:19:01 EST - CBC NewsI can't say that I have a problem with Mr. Kappi's complaint, because he's right to make the complaint. Much of Nunavut is unilingual-Inuktitut, and their linguistic needs ought to be properly addressed. It's as much a point of pride as of justice under law in my personal opinion, because Inuktitut
is after all a made-in-Canada language. It was here before English and French started popping up in what we now call the St. Lawrence Valley and the Maritimes, and All That's Holy willing, it'll still be here and spoken by many around the world when Canada ends her run on the planetary stage however many centuries down the road.
