Noticed a friend of mine from several writing workshops appearing on CBC News, but not for the writing work he's normally known across the country for. No, this time, he joined the ranks of the prey of the Parliament Hill Bird! Yikes!

I too was attacked by a red-wing blackbird today; a non-parliamentarian one, presumably, as I was in High Park in Toronto. I don't know if he was the same one who glared at me a few days ago when I saw him and his fledgling offspring -- probably not, at that was at the other end of the path and their territories seem to be pretty localized.

Glad to know you're alright! Wondering if the species is getting angrier in general, because with habitat encroachment, there's certainly been enough provocation on our part!
