Eyes and the City

Continuing the job search. Watching the City Council's Finance and Economic Development Committee ("FEDCo") meeting as I do that. They're just getting into the Climate Plan portion of discussions re: the 2022 draft budget for Ottawa the City.

This afternoon, I've got my first regular, normal, not-covered-by-OHIP eye exam since before the Pandemic started.

More as I think of it...

Some More Good News

Eyesight is stable.
The back-of-the-eyeball issue is stable.
The exam price got discounted by one-third.
I missed my first bus homeward, but managed to catch a second one two minutes later.

Small blessings, and I'm grateful for them all.

And now, back to our regularly-scheduled troubles, whatever they happen to be...

Settling Down For the Night of 7 December 2021

So I got a bit of good luck with today's eye exam: my sight hasn't worsened. My back-of-the-one-eyeball issue is still stable. I got a one-third discount on the price of that eye exam. And despite missing the bus I hoped to take home from that, I caught another one within two minutes when I was expecting to wait half an hour. So I started thinking today was a good day.

Then, I get home, log into Twitter, and find out about George Pérez's health news.

Then, I look at the solidarity among other artists and among fans in response to that news.

For all the other troubles of the world, yeah, all of *that* has been wearing me down. But that solidarity?
