Comics: George Pérez vs. Cancer

This comes as a shock. Pérez has been one of the Big Artists of the last half-century. One of my favourites.

Yeah. Absolutely. He's been active as an artist for as long as I can remember.

He's certainly one of the first artists I first grew to recognize by style (him, along with Byrne, although unlike Byrne, I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Perez). I remember his work on titles like 80s Teen Titans, the Avengers, Wonder Woman, (much later) JLA and Crisis of course.

There are a lot of artists that I didn't learn to appreciate until long after their glory days but I always admired Perez. So sad.
