Apparently, this is the anniversary of what some in North American pro hockey might call the most blessed meeting in the history of the sport, and others, the most damned meeting in its history. At the Windsor Hotel in Montréal, four team owners decided to screw over a fifth in abandoning the National Hockey Association in favour of founding the NHL as we've come to know it today.
