JOB SEARCH: Avoiding SparkHire
Jun. 20th, 2019 02:40 pmI think that, from now on, if I get a request for a one-way video interview via SparkHire, I am going to e-mail the prospective employer seeking that and say "thanks, but no thanks, I am withdrawing my application". Two prospective employers have asked this of me so far, and it would be best if there weren't a third.
It's not that I don't want a good-fitting job. I do. But my hardware-software mixture at home seems bent on ensuring that I can't use SparkHire as the prospective employers would like me to.
My apologies for this.

Date: 2019-06-21 01:09 pm (UTC)I went around turning off and deleting profiles on various job boards yesterday, that was kinda fun! It leads me to wonder where I'm getting messages from, though, as it looks like I don't have my resume anywhere except LinkedIn....

Date: 2019-06-21 01:46 pm (UTC)I got on LinkedIn ages ago, long before the MS acquisition and before it was trying to be a social media platform. It was a different beast back then. It's never been useful to me.
