And thanks to First Past The Post election rules, they don't even have to take the rest of us seriously. Or respect what we say. Or care why we say it.

For the next four years.

They promised not to.

Once more, an outvoted majority.

Well, on the bright side, Ford's as legislatively incompetent as he was when he was helping Rob run Toronto and is dealing with a much bigger government body.

There's something seriously wrong with a lot of election systems. But what the fix is, I do not know.

I am reminded of the Churchill line that democracy is the worst system of all, except for all the others. Seems like that applies to most voting systems.

I am also horrified. The thing I am most horrified about is that anyone at all voted for him. In a sane world of decent people, there shouldn't have even been one vote for him.

All he needed was for a quarter of those eligible to vote to show up supporting him, and another forty percent staying home. That's how it worked for Harper (and others with greater and lesser levels of decency too).
