Seriously, if you go, don't expect anything from the story. If you turn off your mind and enjoy the cartoonist's honouring Herge, you'll probably have a good time; if you expect the writers to do the same, you'll be bitterly disappointed.

I didn't instantly hate it, which already puts it leagues ahead of most CGI updates of beloved cartoons.

I'm with moon_custafer: I didn't instantly hate it. In fact, I kind of liked it. The music also suggests it is riffing more on the television specials than on the strip, which also makes me feel a bit better about it. I was never a big fan of the specials, probably because they weren't much like the strip; but I suspect I'd appreciate them now, for exactly that reason.

Trying to reproduce Schulz's genius would be a mug's game; but riffing on it might produce wonderful results.
