So. Borderline-frostbite weather today. Clear skies were good, but that temperature? I beg you to spare me that.

Anyway...some other stuff to close out the evening and weekend with.

Kathryn Hunt pointed out an interesting visual design experiment with animation, typography, poetry and an argument on ethical conversation methodology all rolled into one video. Go take a good look. And then, look at it again. And mull the content over a while.

By way of [livejournal.com profile] elaynetoo, I got a look at an essay by Paul Krugman on the differences between nations and businesses. That I would have gotten to it anyway via [livejournal.com profile] krugman_feed doesn't detract from the value of getting to it in as timely a fashion as Elayne arranged. Thanks much, Elayne.

She also reminded me to drop in on Martha Thomases for a look at some of her thoughts on and definition of "elitism". Not yet sure where I stand on this argument, although it does have some echoes of Aaron Sorkin's thinking once upon a time back in 2008. (Need to scare up that link ASAP!) Thanks also for that, Elayne!

I see that [livejournal.com profile] mrtonylee has gotten married! Felicitations, mon ami!

Progress is being made on all fronts re: Can-Con, Ottawa-Gatineau's speculative fiction convention. Please check [livejournal.com profile] ottawa_sf or [livejournal.com profile] can_con_news for the latest on those particular developments!

More as I think on it...unless you point it out to me first!
