Another rant on "obsolete" tech...

...in response to a discussion at National Capital Freenet entitled "Rest in Peace, CD, We Hardly Knew Ye":

I'm not done with the tech yet, dammit!

And I still want to have the option of buying gadgets that double as *portable* AM/FM radios and CD players. Like the old Discman-type gear, you know? I've got an old Panasonic model that's still working okay for now, but I want to be able to keep buying replacement gear if the mood takes me and the finances hold up.

Rant over now.

Oh, CDRs. Yeah, I've noticed that they've gotten a lot harder to find, too. I still like to burn some downloads to audio CD occasionally. The pod and the old stereo amp don't play nice together, and the pod dock, nice as it is, doesn't have the same oomph as the old stereo. I have maybe 15 or 20 blank CDs... Guess I'll have to grab the next batch I see and be more selective about what I burn.
