The thing that most disturbs me?
Not a word for peacekeeping service by name.
The speeches filed it under "military operations" by implication.
Disturbing.

"Peacekeeping? What a waste of money! We'll force our own notion of Peace and Democracy down their throats -- and call it military ops instead."
I am reminded (sadly) of Tacitus visiting Britannia after Boudicca was crushed and writing "They made a desert and called it Peace" [SOLITUDINEM FECERUNT, PACEM APPELUNT in the original according to this webpage (http://www.yuni.com/library/latin_7.html)].
Sigh.
