Tech issues postponed the job interview. We'll try again next week, exact date and time to be determined. And this time, I'll have Microsoft Teams at hand to use. And my cell phone bill is finally paid up again, which solves another issue.

(I'm mildly surprised that the desktop Mac version of MS Teams works at all with High Sierra.)

Getting support lined up regarding certain family health issues.

Applied to two jobs today. One application immediately got a "no thank you".

Another application from a couple of weeks ago finally got a "no thank you" of its own. They went with another temp company's candidate, seeing them as better suited. It happens.

No jackpot lottery win for me either.

More on other stuff later.

Considering that I am looking at the possibility of income supports from the provincial government here in Ontario as an option, depending on whether or not I count as "disabled"...and on whether or not I can land a steadier job soon...

Considering that I have read horror stories from nations where administration of social support income has been privatised, including the UK and Australia...

This report leaves me wondering how to either stop or reverse this course as reported:

[personal profile] ysabetwordsmith pointed out this item on one method being used to make affordable housing doable.

Looking at my personal library...well, I can be branded a hoarder. Or militantly well-read. I wouldn't want much for kitchen space, but I'd want accessibility in anticipation of days to come when I need a walker, wheelchair or some other appliance for moving around. And I would absolutely demand space for my library. Affordable housing and I are going to have an antagonistic relationship, I think, for a very long time. Even if I manage to cull a large portion of my reading collections without sending it into landfill, which I still hope to do.

*sigh*

I'm going to have to find new homes for a lot of comic books, aren't I? I haven't even been able to catalogue them all properly yet.
