One of my subscribed job-search alerts via the job search service Indeed pointed this out to me:
Lee Valley Tools, a local hardware retailer that's been active for four decades here in Ottawa-Gatineau, has need of an archivist-curator at this particular moment.
If their management will forgive my quoting the advertisement, with italic emphasis of my choosing:
"Overview:
We have a new opportunity available for an Archivist/Curator Technician (Co-Op) at our Head Office in Ottawa, ON.
The Archivist/Curator Technician will provide support in the record keeping, cataloguing and maintaining of Lee Valley’s collection of historical artifacts and organizational documents.
Key Responsibilities
Preserve and maintain LV customer catalogues
Maintain digital files and databases
Organize and classify records to make them easy to search through
Coordinate, store and maintain tool collection
Photograph and Log all Information about items ( Measurements, origins, markings)
Conduct special research projects
Supporting store or trade show exhibits
Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum current enrollment in diploma or degree program related to museum studies or history Well organized, able to work independently

This sounds like a cool job when I read out that part aloud. I'm not qualified to do the work, but some of you out there might know someone who'd be interested and able to do the work.
