...or should I reshuffle the order of that Subject Header?

I probably should.

Anyway.

Writing: I spent a good hour today, perhaps more, nailing down a thousand words on the space opera novel, and a couple hundred extra on what I hope will be its sequel. The plot and dialogue work on Novel # 1's early chapters now work somewhat better to my eyes, and I'm beginning to get a good sense of what the plot of the next one ought to become. I know I said I've got 80,000 words down already, but some reworking was needed.

Transit situation: No strike yet, but I found another reason to remain ticked at City Hall about the state of OC Transpo. The last connection I needed to make in order to get home was supposed arrive two minutes after I showed up at Transitway Station "X". It didn't show for at least 20-25 minutes after that, by which point I was ready and willing to settle for a different route that would get me just close enough for walking distance to my house. You would think that I was lucky to get that much, and I suppose I am. But it highlights the funding situation with OC Transpo right now, specifically the fact that trip frequencies within any given neighbourhood outside the central core of Ottawa are not where they ought to be: more often than once every half-hour during weekdays. They haven't been there for quite a while. I'd like to see this remedied. Soonish, please, City Council?

Comics: A minor rant on a good artist who should be getting more work, and maybe he is and I just haven't been paying attention of late. The man's name is Paul Ryan. I first became acquainted with his work with Mark Gruenwald on DP7 for Marvel's New Universe line, if memory serves. Then, as now, his work was solid. Simple, clear visuals, always on time. He eventually moved on to long term gigs on Captain America and later The Flash(where I really enjoyed his urban design work on Keystone and Central Cities), and he's apparently dropped off my radar since then. If anyone knows what Ryan's up to nowadays, could they point me in that direction, please?

And that's it for the moment.
