To those of you reading other Canadian newspapers: I see Conservatives rented the front two pages of the Citizen this morning. Did they do the same with any of the other Postmedia-owned newspapers across the country again?

The last time I remember this happening was in 2015.

The National Post virtually always has an advertisement sleeve for its Saturday edition; the sleeve today was a CPC ad.

(A doubly misleading ad, as it referenced debt build-up under Trudeau without either making inflation adjustments (on which basis I will bet Mackenzie King stands head and shoulders first, due to the Depression and the Second World War) and also without pointing out the amount which was a response to the extraordinary circumstances of COVID, given that the programmes involved are popular and I doubt the Conservatives would want to be seen as a party which would not have provided the various supports in question. Perhaps triply misleading in that the implicit subtext is that the way to deal with debt is to trim spending on programmes, no matter how beneficial they are, rather than raise taxes.)
