Petra Meyer came up with this list the other day. You might have preferences of your own. Some of you, I see, have works included in this list, and I offer congratulations upon that inclusion!

Not sure how many of these I've been able to read yet, but that is a quest for another day.

Ooh, I've read a bunch of those and agree with many (though not all) of their choices. And there are some I haven't read but sound amazing.

Definitely have to check this out when I get home Sunday or next week, sounds interesting. My new reads for the last few years have been based almost exclusively on the Hugo nominees: I buy the supporting membership and get almost all the books as ebooks. Unfortunately some of the publishers only provide a couple of chapters as previews instead of the entire books, and those invariably go to the bottom of my list as I can't READ THEM. That's like voting for a candidate based entirely on exposure to the first half of one debate.

For all that I keep dwelling on "not keeping up with current SF the way I used to," I did find I've already read a few of the books on the list, and I'm at least pondering a few more of them from their descriptions. I appreciate being pointed to the list.
