One of the weird side-effects of being old, I saw Gordie Howe play at least once. And he got into a fight -- don't know if he also had a goal and an assist that time . . .

I am led to understand by multiple accounts that he was his own best "enforcer" back in the day, so this does not entirely surprise me.

Also, my father was lucky enough to share a plane ride with him and at least one of his sons. My memory is unclear on the details right now.
