Yeah.

So this happened, apparently to one of the characters connecting those two Marvel teams.

Or at least, their existence was a connection between the two branches of the Marvel Universe until now.

Looks like this particular creative choice backfired, perhaps not unlike "One More Day/Brand New Day" backfired on the Spider-Man comics titles. We'll see what happens in the months and years ahead, I suppose.

Marvel is really bad at allegory. I think this has to do with the hired gun artiste and however it is they are editor-ing lately. Note:I read in such a way that I don't actually have much Franklin Richards investment, since Susan deserved better than the fiasco of plot lines related.

I don't know the Spider-Man events/named plot periods enough, but I do know Marvel* tonedeafed an own voices plot about drug addiction when the white writer put it in the key of mutant simulation on iirc Patriot (is that the same character Kate Bishop was figuring out her feeling in Young Avengers during the Oscorp Avengers Not Really period?)

I suppose they sorta lifted that onto Mike Peterson during the Centipede arc AoS.

...dates back about a decade. Peter's marriage to MJ was retconned away by way of a deal with Mephisto, the closest thing Marvel has to an actual Devil.

I've seen the panels of that but wasn't reading the titles in that period.

I'm not even sure how many iterations of origin story Petey had by the time I was a wee reader, but I find it highly bizarre how much older than our wall-crawler I am now.

I was reading the ShadowCat "breather" and Venom situations contemporary with the whole 900# Robin lives or dies Voting. (Yes, I live in a time well)

Does Peter even have an uncle in MCU? (I ask because eventually the old statement of the only deaths that are permanent will make absolutely No Sense unless enough scraps remain.)

MCU Peter still had and lost an Uncle Ben Parker. I think the decision was taken at the point of Civil War that we'd seen enough versions of that death on-camera for most of the audience to take knowledge of it as a given for this one.

Which is perfectly fine. I'm pretty amused with the whole video blog about Happy transporting Peter, even as I'm less than happy with aspects of CA:CW.

I had the much younger Aunt May sprung on me in the theater, so-- Not that I'm opposed to the delight that is Tormei (sp?) just, I find the age span in MCU contracting from The Marvel Way circa How to Draw Superheroes books aimed at kids.

Was it Wally's mom in Justice League that was starting a romance with a silver fox spy? (Yep, time warp.)

Marisa Tomei playing May Parker was a surprise to me when I read about the casting decision. I've managed to roll with it.

And yes, I do believe that Mary West - Wally's mother - was entertaining such a person back during the Messner-Loeb era of Flash.

Yeah. I expect either it'll be reversed by the end of the current writer's run, or it'll get retconned eventually. It's been part of Franklin's character forever...
