dewlineThere's been some discussion among fan circles about pushing for Jeffrey Coombs - you remember him as the several Weyouns on DS9 or Shran on Enterprise - to play Pike's friend and medical officer Philip Boyce from "The Cage". Coombs doesn't seem to think it likely, and while I'd rather he were wrong enough about that to actually get a call to read for it...there was an alternative option discussed recently on TrekBBS.

Canadian actor, career goes back about 40 years if it's been a day. You might have seen or heard him on either version of Corner Gas, and if you've seen enough reruns of Canadian TV, you might recall him as Leon on the original Street Legal. Granted that he's 73 at this point, but I like the idea and we're opposed to ageism on principle anyway. How about you?
