We have a "people's veto" referendum on vaccine requirements for school children. The current ad campaign (against mandatory vaccination) uses "Reject Big Pharma" as a slogan. As if "Big Pharma" makes a ton of money on MMR vaccine . . .

Over 30,000 Americans die from the flu annually. I don't know how that number has changed as the anti-vaxxer rhetoric has grown, nor do I know the numbers in Canada.

I did a paper in a communications class last summer, and according to the CDC, the anti-vax numbers aren't growing here, it's just news is amplifying their signal for ratings/clicks.
