The Republicans seem to see Mr. Mueller's "duty" as being to self-discredit as quickly and as disastrously as possible. Which is nonsensical at best, and dangerous to the US and to the people of many other nations as well.

Have the Democrats managed to ask any semi-coherent questions? I've been worried they'd fuck this up.

They managed at least two hundred - so it seemed during the broadcast - that I heard. A lot of them, he couldn't or wouldn't answer for several reasons that he outlined at the top of the questioning. But the answers he did give make sense.
