Photography: Smughug? Who???
Apr. 21st, 2018 10:55 pmAnd I just got confronted by the "you need to agree to the Oath-issue Terms of Service" screen as I tried to log into Flickr tonight.
Also, just read about the SmugHug/Flickr thing seconds ago...and speaking of SmugMug...who owns them? Some of my friendly acquaintances in SF fandom and pro-dom have heard of before tonight, but I didn't.
Why should I trust them for my online photo-hosting?

Date: 2018-04-22 09:45 am (UTC)The believers in social media and big data and analytics hold out this dream to me that they are going to understand my every secret need and point me towards the things that will satisfy those needs. Hah. They still have the same crap to sell as always. Just like the novelty of door-to-door salesmen, this too will never deliver on the hype.
I could save them a lot of trouble: I want to be prettier, smarter, healthier, and I wish to crush my enemies under my sandals. There: all done.
