Crazy thought for an Alpha Flight movie set in the MCU: Heather McNeil performing the BNL song "Odds Are" in a Calgary karaoke joint as part of her courtship of James Hudson. Anyone who (a) knows the lyrics and (b) knows the history of Heather and Mac will know why it has to be that song.

Yesterday I dropped off eight long boxes of comics at my previous dealer, last Friday it was five plus four banker boxes. That's probably 99% of my collection, I expect I'll come across some squirrelled away here and there, but I doubt that I have any more long boxes anywhere. At about 40 lbs a box and 300 comics per, that's a lot.

All gone. Including Alpha Flight. I enjoyed them, but I know that I'll never take the time to read 'em again.

I saved a few things: Mad Raccoons by Cathy Hill, Fusion by Eclipse Comics, a couple of early series by Phil Foglio.  And some graphic novels like Watchmen and Dark Knight.  I'd like to reassemble my Usagi Yojimbo and Knights of the Dinner Table series via collected volumes, but that can wait until I have a reliable income again.  But for the most part, and when you consider I just dumped 99.9% of my comics, I now own no comics. I was talking to a friend as I was reviewing the boxes looking for a few things, and he wanted Ambush Bug and Captain Carrot titles: and I found both!  So I expect him to be happy tomorrow when I swing by and drop them off. It is kind of sad, but I'm glad they're gone.  I don't have to worry about them leaping out after my parents are gone and I have to shut down and sell the house, and they're no longer occupying cubage at home or in my storage locker.  It'll be a lot easier working on the library with those boxes gone. Lots of fond memories, which will be maintained.  It's just best not to think about the amount of money that went in to all that paper and how little I'll be getting in commissioned sales.
