Well, I had fun for the 90 minutes it was on. It helped me stay sane (enough).

Interesting to see such a flourish of the cape to Marvel and DC's publications...and the early days of Byrne's Superman in particular, right there on the air for all to see. Was that a specific choice of Moffat's?

Believe it or not, I liked it too. First time in quite a while that I've genuinely enjoyed a Moffat-penned episode.

...and the early days of Byrne's Superman in particular, right there on the air for all to see. Was that a specific choice of Moffat's?

Would it be churlish of me to suggest that Moffat's penchant for dressing his female companions in very short skirts might (ahem) arise from his youthful perusals of said Byrne-era comics?

It could just be a case of a diligent propmaster making sure to get a comic of the correct vintage. Moffat seemed to be taking most of his cues from Christopher Reeve, rather than Byrne. In any event, it was easily the most entertaining Superman story in recent memory.
