Date: 2015-09-02 09:33 pm (UTC)Yes, we have a single-payer program, but it is (of course - we live in a finite universe) limited in terms of what is covered.
In Canada, non-emergency dental care, eye care and prescription drugs all remain outside the purview of the public system. (As an example, I am about half-way through about two-months' wages worth of dentistry.)
Without having watched the video, I feel confident in asserting that May is making the case for bring prescription drugs into the publicly funded medicare system. And I'm all for it.
