File this under personal opinion.

Legislative overreaction, I mentioned last night before bed. Tim Harper suggests a preventative - or corrective to that in his column for yesterday's Toronto Star.

I also worry that access to Parliament Hill will be more troubled than it used to be. Lone gunmen make great excuses for this sort of thing, after all. But then, I've visited the Hill for everything from looking at the now-closed Cat Sanctuary to participating in protests in support of things like net neutrality, the CBC and worries about Harper's first prorogation of Parliament. So I would believe and say things like that, wouldn't I?

Some other concerns...

As to postal service, I'd still like to see everyone in Canada's cities and larger towns get "door-to-door" service restored. Not curtailed. Also, there are possibly unintended consequences of the current plans of Canada Post. Joe Fiorito closes one of his recent columns detailing some of them.

I'd rather have environmental protection laws strengthened, not weakened. Partly because I like having greenspace and biodiversity and cleaner oceans, and partly because I'm asthmatic.

And I mentioned CBC funding, right? I'd like to see them not starved any further, mainly because I get good value for my taxes. Information, entertainment, that sort of thing.

More later.
