This strikes me as a tad disturbing. My apologies to anyone working for or invested in the affected companies who disagrees with me here, but I don't like the idea. General principles of diversity of voices and of the ownership of the means of transmitting the messages of the aforesaid voices comes into play here.

Sadly, there is much truth to this. I'd happily see some teeth added, with access to the right set of wits to figure out how they ought to be structured. I suspect there's a certain amount of British legal tradition inheritance at play here.
