I want to view my profiles - whether my own personal profile or anyone else's on LJ - the way I'm used to. Not the way LJ management currently wants me to. They keep insisting that they know better than their customer base what we want.

Dammit.

As if there wasn't enough to cope with, right?

At least it still looks the way I set it up to look for now.

Until they meddle with that, too, of course.

I suppose there might be userstyles you could use. Although that doesn't really solve the problem. I suppose they're just doing what facebook and google have, which is force users into whatever architecture makes them the most money.

I started a livejournal interface in php months ago (you can see it sort of dead at https://github.com/kennethrapp/journalist because I thought it might be useful. There's probably a lot of things the api doesn't cover though.

I can no longer look at a friend's profile and see our mutual friends - very inconvenient when someone is ill, and I want to ask a mutual friend if they have heard from them.

It is now just wrong. I do not like all this tinkering with things that were working perfectly fine before they started...

None of us can, it seems. And not only inconvenient, but rude as well.
