A mix of stuff

dewlineI'm sitting here drawing stuff and waiting for the washing machine to be fixed. Being pleased by some things, dismayed by others.
The joys?
Still being able to draw. Having the place to myself. Clear skies.
The dismay?

divalea lost two dogs, four cats and a fair chunk of her house to a fire last night. Her human kids are both okay, thanks be for that. Hoping to figure out how I can be of help on that front.
thothmeister has been coping with one of the more vexing forms of plumber non-co-operation for over a week.
Five of Canada's soldiers died in the Battle of Panjwai, AKA "Op Medusa", over the Labour Day weekend. Four in actual combat. The fifth, apparently due to friendly fire from an A-10 they asked for to provide close fire support. Granted, the battle appears to have gone fairly well for the ISAF forces, including our Royal Canadian Regiment troops, overall...but the dismay remains.
